Wisdom

Though I wish I had obtained more wisdom by now I see I have made some progress. However, I am struck by the fact of how slow the process has been in my life and how much “I don’t get it”. I too often am defensive, though not as much as I used to be. I am still pretentiuous, though not as pretentious as I uesd to be. It really embarrasses me when I think of my actions of the past. How could I act this way? How can I prevent it, because I can think of things I have done recently that are embarrassing. Embrassment and shame go hand in had. Therefore, the remedy is the cross. A real notion that I am rotten to the core, but yet posses a spirit in me that is cooperating with the Spirit of the living God (A person – The Holy Spirit). I thank God that I am changing little by little every day. I’ve heard it described like meticulous brush strokes on a large canvas painting a beautiful picture in the end. I feel it more like sand slowly smoothing a stone. Maybe like one of five that David chose out of a brook in order to kill Goliath “The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell facedown on the ground”. He only needed one. One piece of earth that over the years has been smoothed after thousands of thousands of gallons of water pelted it with partcals. This piece of earth God designed, along with some leather (slingshot) aided David to take down a Giant. I am still very rough. May God answer my prayer to see and hear more. Therefore this Proverb spoke volumes to me, as this is my heart.

Proverbs 30:2-9

2 “I am the most ignorant of men;
       I do not have a man’s understanding.

 3 I have not learned wisdom,
       nor have I knowledge of the Holy One.

 4 Who has gone up to heaven and come down?
       Who has gathered up the wind in the hollow of his hands?
       Who has wrapped up the waters in his cloak?
       Who has established all the ends of the earth?
       What is his name, and the name of his son?
       Tell me if you know!

 5 “Every word of God is flawless;
       he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.

 6 Do not add to his words,
       or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar.

 7 “Two things I ask of you, O LORD;
       do not refuse me before I die:

 8 Keep falsehood and lies far from me;
       give me neither poverty nor riches,
       but give me only my daily bread.

 9 Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you
       and say, ‘Who is the LORD ?’
       Or I may become poor and steal,
       and so dishonor the name of my God.
